Lico Little-leaf Linden. Lico is a dwarf form of the species. If one wishes to develop a bonsai of this species, here is the plant for you. I first witnessed this plant in the magnificent garden of John Elsley in Greenwood, SC. Here he has a specimen that he thought was 20-25 years old, but it was only about 20 inches tall. One can see it pictured below. But it is reported that it can eventually attain the size of 6-9 ft. tall by 4-6 ft. wide. I think in the Deep South I would definitely site this plant in part shade, but further north it will do well in full sun. These plants are on their own roots and not grafted, so they would be perfect for bonsai development since there won't be an obvious graft union. This is the 6 inch pot size that you will receive.
