Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Jurassic Park Thujopsis. Unlike other selections of this species which have a more shrub-like growth habit, 'Jurassic Park' develops into a stately compact conical form. It is not a fast grower, and because of its thicker needles, some authorities think that it may have extra chromosomes. Still rare in cultivation, this plant is a must for the conifer collector. To quote Tony Avent at Plant Delights nursery: "We first saw this unusual form of Thujopsis dolabrata at Joann Currier's The Unique Plant Nursery. Joann originally got the plant from Randy Plante at Greener Visions Nursery, who got it from NC conifer nurseryman Geoff Driscoll, who got it from someone up north. That's where the trail goes cold." Wow! What a mystery. If you know more, let us know. Some think that it may get to 8' in 10 years which is the case at Juniper Level Botanical Garden.
