Julianae Lilac 'Red Pixie'. Plant Introduction brought in every Lilac species and cultivar that they could find to see which ones would perform well in the South. They planted them out in the field to see which ones would perform best. This one thrived. It has also done well in containers. The flowers are a dark reddish purple in early April for us here in zone 8. It is also wonderfully fragrant.
