Klaus Jelitto Stokes Aster. This is one of best native perennials that we have and this is a newer cultivar with some of the largest flowers of the genus, up to 3-4" across, and forming mounds of 12-18" high. It does best in full sun for the best flowering with a well drained soil. This species is great for attracting butterflies and for cut flowers. Some references say it is deer resistant, but we have not found that to be the case.
