Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Minute Serissa or Snow Rose. I found this extremely dwarf Serissa in a small consignment bonsai nursery in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, on the outskirts of Tokyo. Frankly I had to buy this selection as a small bonsai mounted on a rock as I could not get a "starter" plant. The leaves are one third the size of the species with likewise smaller flowers than the species. This will make an excellent subject for bonsai. With its tiny leaves and flowers, it is one of the best for making a really dwarf appearing tree. There is a possibility that this cultivar could be 'Kyoto' because it is listed as getting to only 12" tall, but if left unpruned, it will get much larger than this.
