Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Willow-leaf Sarcococca. Without a doubt, this is the most graceful of all the Sweetbox with long narrow leaves of 3-5" on pendulous, arching branches up to 3' with an equal spread. It would even be an excellent substitute for Leucothoe axillaris. The earliest flowering species of this genus, it produces small, yellow, powder puff-like flowers along its stems in October. Probably more like zone 7b and warmer. Sarcococcas are some of the best evergreen, dry shade shrubs imaginable.
