Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Mt. Asama Pink Flowering Willow. Spring Meadow Nurseries describes this selection as being made by florist in Japan for its "pink-tinged pussy willow flower heads. Buds emerge in late winter to early spring with a two-toned, dark burgundy and silver, before aging to black-silver. Named after the volcano Mt. Asama, it has larger catkins than the common pussy willow, Salix caprea." Prune back after flowering in the spring to induce more and longer stems that will flower the following spring. Plant in full sun where it will make a multi-stemmed shrub 8-10 ft. high.
