Lemon Sparkler™ Japanese Yew. The same day that I acquired a cutting of 'Royal Flush' from Dr. Masato Yakoi, he also gave me a cutting of this cultivar which has bright yellow new growth. Just as stunning as 'Royal Flush' with its pink new growth, this selection is just as showy. And as with 'Royal Flush', each succeeding flush of new growth is bright yellow. This plant appears to be just as hardy as the species. When grown in full sun, one gets more vivid yellow new growth. The growth habit with this cultivar is more upright; whereas, 'Royal Flush' is slightly more spreading.
