Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Spring Bouquet Pittosporum. This is one of the more unusual cultivars that I have ever seen. The new growth emerges in the spring almost completely white, and as it hardens off, it slowly turns green. And then each succeeding flush of growth will be white. I chose this cultivar name because upon seeing it for the first time, Tony Avent of Plant Delights Nursery, pointed across a section of our new plants and said, "What is that flowering over there." From a distance it appears to be a large bouquet of white flowering Rhododendron. Dr. Masato Yokoi of Kawaguchi, Japan shared a single cutting of this with me back in 2001 and from this single cutting I now have a few to share.
