Cinnamon Fern. No native shade garden would be complete without our own Cinnamon Fern. Its huge 3-5' tall fronds make quite a statement in the spring when they emerge. And the cinnamon colored fruiting fronds add a bit of an accent to this stately fern. It is completely deciduous and disappears completely in the winter. It will also tolerate some very damp conditions. Many times it will be seen growing in the edges of small streams. This species will tolerate some sun as long as it has adequate moisture. This species has one of the widest zonal distributions of any plant that we grow from south Florida to well up the eastern Canadian coast.
