Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Pink Fruiting Hardy Banana. This cold hardy pink fruiting Banana can freeze to the ground and come up in the spring and be in flower by mid summer and shortly thereafter fruit are formed. The bright pink fruit are actually edible, but they are about 10% pulp and about 90% seed. Shortly after they ripen, it looks as if a bevy of monkeys climbed on it overnight and partially pealed each fruit, so that the white flesh of the fruit is jumping out of the bright pink skin. It is a good moderate grower of 6-9'. and the heavily textured foliage adds quite the tropical touch around the swimming pool or fish pond in the summer.
