Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Sweet Grass. This NATIVE from North Carolina to Texas, is my favorite native grass. This species plumes about two weeks later than M. capillaris and is fully 2' taller. It has almost the identical color with is wispy mauve/pink seed heads. This is becoming an endangered species along the South Carolina coast because of development and this is the species used by the Gullah Charleston artisans who weave those unreal baskets from their stems. So if you are a Muhley addict like me, this one can prolong your fix.
