Little Leaf Milletia. Other species of Milletia are vines, but this shrub legume is native to China and west into India with fine, mimosa-like leaves which have terminal panicles of magenta-colored pea-like flowers. It is quite vigorous, so give it plenty of space. Since it is a legume, one does not have to use nearly so much fertilizer as with other shrubs or trees as it can appropriate atmospheric nitrogen for its own use. It does best when grown in full sun with good soil drainage. The next availability of this item will summer, 2023.
