Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Bigleaf Magnolia. This most impressive Southeatern native has probably the largest leaves of any deciduous tree, up to 32" long and 12" wide. This tree will easily reach 30' in height and seems to be happiest when grown with other deciduous trees. The wood is quite brittle and can easily break in heavy windstorms, but it quickly recovers. Give it uniform moisture. Flowers can be up to 12" in diameter and are nicely fragrant. We grow larger sizes, but it is difficult to put them in boxes for shipping because of their height. We have some larger specimens which are too large to ship at the nursery.
