Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Majestic Liriope. 'Majestic' is one of my favorite cultivars of Liriope. It is not as tall as 'Big Blue,' but the flower spikes have twice the number of flowers on them and are consequently much fuller and more showy. Some of the scapes will even be branched. The leaves are also somewhat wider than other cultivars. It will grow in sun or shade and flower quite well in both. Photo 2 shows left to right, flowering scapes of 'Majestic,' 'Deep Purple' and 'Samona.' The containers are so full, that one can divide them into a number of divisions.
