Dynamite Crepe Myrtle. This is the first Crepe Myrtle that I could really say is a true red. Others are a watermelon red. Whenever it is in bloom, it causes quite a stir. Our accountant has an office on U. S. 25 here, which is a major thoroughfare. He said that individuals are stopping all of the time when his plants are in flower to ask him what variety this is. So he directs them to us. It also has good mildew resist. This new cultivar was developed by Dr. Carl Whitcomb. New foliage is a crimson red. This has been one of our best sellers since it was introduced just a few years ago. We think that the ultimate height will be in the 12-20'. As with all Crapemyrtles, plant in full sun with good drainage.
