Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Sun Glo™ Primrose Jasmine. I am quite sure that this is a first introduction of this plant into America. I found this plant in a small specialty plant nursery in Kawaguchi, Japan. When I first saw this plant, it was so dwarfed by its small pot and low fertility, that I thought it was Jasminum nudiflorum. It had spectacular bright yellow new growth which later fades to a chartreuse, but each flush of growth in bright golden yellow throughout the growing season. When grown in full sun, it appears to be the most brilliant here in late fall. It has the same semi-double flowers of the species. Great plant for massing particularly on slopes. Flowers appear in February and March, which a great addition to the winter garden. It will reach 4-6' with an equal or greater spread.
