Due to the winter weather, orders from these states will ship in the spring, April to May: CA, CO, IA, ID, KS, ME, MI, MN, MT, ND, NE, NH, NV, OR, SD, UT, VT, WA, WI, WY. And due to the extreme cold and wind which we experienced through the Christmas holidays of December 2022, many Osmanthus varieties won't be shipped until we are assured there is no cold damage. This may be as late as April or May, 2023. We may choose to delay shipping other plants as well.

Pebblebrook Florida Anise. This is a compact selection of this species made by Dr. John Reuter of the University of GA which was found in a private garden in Tifton, GA. It flowers profusely with the same color of the species. I think this selection is finally catching on. Really one of the best. When we say that it is "compact", this means that it grows more dense, but it will still get quite large in time as one can see from the  pictures. The same cultural requirements of the species, growing well in filtered sun with adequate soil moisture. This species has proven to be far more cold hardy than its native haunts might indicate. Dirr mentions reports of this species surviving -15°F. We had an all-time record low of -4°F in 1985, and plants in 2 gallon containers, not even jammed together, survived with no damage at all. Not even a burnt leaf! Because of inherent chemicals contained in its leaves, this species is almost completely insect and deer resistant..
