Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Green Shadow Nepal Holly Nepal Holly has a leaf which is 2 inches plus long and about 3/4' wide and may be entire or slightly toothed towards the end. It is native to Japan, Taiwan and Korea and it has the potential to become a medium size tree of 20-30 feet. Many foliage forms have been isolated and named in Japan, of which 'Green Shadow' is an attractive cultivar with irregular cream-white margins and various shades of green towards its leaves centers. It is easily grown with few pests. I have yet to observe flowers on this selection, so it is impossible to tell whether it is male or female. It is also a very stable sport as I have never seen any reversions.
