Drops of Gold Japanese Holly. This cultivar will reach a similar size to 'Golden Gem' but its leaf type is similar to the old cultivar 'Hetzi' with its rounded convex shape, and it has an awesome brilliant golden-yellow color when grown in full sun. It will get one and a half times as wide as high. Within 10 years it would probably reach 4' high by 5-6' across, but it lends itself to shearing so one could easily keep it half that size. The sunnier the location, the more brilliant the color. Give good drainage, but other than that, this is a "no-brainer" to grow. If grown in too much shade, the leaves will be green. If you want something that gets a little larger and is faster growing than 'Brass Buckle'®, then this would be a great choice.
