Praecox Panicle Hydrangea. Alluding to its early flowering, the term "praecox" means "precocious or developing early." This is the earliest flowering of the "paniculata" type Hydrangeas, as it flowers on old wood like 'Dharuma', but it is a much larger grower. Hence, prune after flowering rather than before, as one would do with other cultivars of the panicle hydrangeas. But like all paniculata types, it prefers full sun.
