Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Mt. Airy Fothergilla. One of the true great selections of native flowering shrubs, with a multi-stem suckering habit, reaching 5-6'. It produces terminal spikes of white, fragrant honey scented, apetalous flowers which appear to be little cottony balls at the tips of each stem. Summer foliage is a bluish green with a fall color of yellows, oranges, apricots and reds over many weeks. This is a selection of Dr. Mike Dirr from Mt. Airy Arboretum, Cincinnati, OH. It does well for us in sun or shade, and even in shade we have the vivid fall colors.
