Candy Corn® Spirea. This colorful, new selection is so outstanding that you won't believe your eyes. It has candy apple red foliage which starts to show in early spring and as the season progresses, the older foliage transforms to pineapple yellow, creating a unique contrast with the orangey-red new growth. Dark purple blooms in late spring make this one of the most eye-popping Spireas yet. It makes a gorgeous mound of only 18-24 inches tall with a greater spread. The last pictures are the late winter new growth. This is a development of Dr. Tom Ranney of North Carolina State University. He is also the developer of Gordlinia grandiflora 'Sweet Tea.'
