Willow-leaf Sarcococca. Without a doubt, this is the most graceful of all the Sweetbox with long narrow leaves of 3-5" on pendulous, arching branches up to 3' with an equal spread. It would even be an excellent substitute for Leucothoeaxillaris. The earliest flowering species of this genus, it produces small, yellow, powder puff-like flowers along its stems in October. Probably more like zone 7b and warmer. Sarcococcas are some of the best evergreen, dry shade shrubs imaginable.
