Augusta Hardy Pink Grapefruit. This is a chance seedling planted from a pink grapefruit almost 40 years ago by a home owner in Augusta, GA. The last two pictures shown were taken on December 22, 2010, just after Augusta had recorded 13°F just three weeks earlier, and there was no damage to either plant or fruit. The winter of 2010-2011 was the coldest winter on record in Augusta. We have had colder temperatures previously, but they were followed by a quick warm up. This winter stayed cold with little warm up. Out of six fruit, we found only one seed, so this selection is virtually seedless. The peeling is very thick, but the quality of the fruit is excellent. This cultivar may tolerate zone 7b conditions, but until it is tested there, we really don't know. I would recommend planting it against a wall or other barrier to protect it from northwest winter winds, but still give it as much sun as possible. This plant makes an excellent container plants where gardeners cannot grow citrus outside.

We are not allowed to ship citrus into the following states due to their agricultural regulations:  AZ, CA, FL, GA, TX

Zones 6-9.
