Hummingbird Summersweet. This is probably one of the most compact selection to date of this species, it has received many national awards of merit too numerous to mention. The earliest bloomer of the group, this selection is truly one of the great native summer flowering shrubs, which also adds fragrance to the garden. It is also one of our natives preferred by honey bees. It is wonderful in mass or in the shrub border. It also has a good yellow fall color.
