Harlequin Japanese Cinnamon Tree. The Japanese Cinnamon is one of the more cold hardy species of this genus. This cultivar has pewter colored leaves with cream white margins. It will make a shrubby plant which is quite attractive, but it can eventually reach small tree proportions, if you or it live long enough. Flowers are not showy, but it will form black berries. In China it is used for medicinal purposes. This is a very slow grower, and for all practical purposes, one might site it as a medium shrub, slightly broader than high. Quite an eye-catcher and a real collector plant. Very rare. We have a few available right now, but next spring we will have a good crop coming of size.
