Scarlet Storm Flowering Quince
This magnificent selection comes from the breeding expertise of Dr. Tom Ranney at the The Mountain Horticultural Crops Research & Extension Center which is located in the southern Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina near Asheville. The series has been name the "Double Take™ Quince Collection." They all have large double blooms, and they are thornless and deer resistant. WOW! What more could one ask. 'Scarlet Storm' is a bright velvety red with some flowers being completely double, i. e. no stamens at all, while others have many layers of petals and still show some stamens. This is a true break through with Quince breeding with which you will truly fall in love.
