Cameo Flowering Quince. One of the most double of the Flowering Quince cultivars, with an apricot-pink bloom and absolutely no thorns! It tends to flower with the foliage in late winter starting here in February. It has very dense branching and suckers heavily. Grow Quinces in full sun for best flower and there may be an occasional fruit, which is totally inedible fresh, but makes great jams and jellies. Cameo will eventually make a 5' by 5' shrub. It does great in full sun to part shade with good drainage. Deer have never been a problem, but when plants are small, rabbits tend to relish the young stems in the winter. Our next crop of this selection will be ready in July, 2019.
