Feather Falls Carex. This superior Carex is one of the more outstanding of the genus, and it is is a new tri-specific sedge hybrid from Bart Noordhuis and Elisabeth Bisschop of Exceptio Plants in Holland. It makes an evergreen clumping grass of 14-20 in. tall with magnificent cascading leaves with clear white borders and a green center. In the spring it is adorned with spikes topped with "feathery" tips of infertile seed. In the more extremes of its range, if it burns on the tips, just take a pair of scissors and nip them back. It is ideal for an accent clump, or used in mass in a perennial border. It is the ideal "cascade" in a combination pot in the landscape. It clumps and does not run, so it works well using it as a border. It likes normal soil, and will take moist to dry situations, as well with full sun to shade in the garden.
