Wright's Texas Firecracker. This Southwest native is one of our longer flowering perennials which will bloom from late spring to frost with star-like brilliant orange flowers. It is also one of our best hummingbird attracters. Here it will most die back to the ground, but with milder climates, it can make a medium shrub of 6' in height. Considering where it is native, it is one of the best plants for drought tolerance and the xeriscape garden. The first and last pictures here are courtesy of PLANTanswers.com.
