Moon Landing Alocasia. Here is one of the more outstanding hardy Alocasias with a truly spectacular variegation of chartreuse-gold leaves with a quite variable green margin. With its shifting leaf coloration from leaf to leaf, 'Moon Landing' is a very fitting cultivar name. If mulched during the winter to prevent freezing of the tuber, it will be hardy to zone 7b. It performs best in the landscape when planted in filtered sun in a uniformly moist soil. It is really an easy-to-grow container plant as well. Even though it is a shade plant in the landscape, I would recommend as much light as possible if grown as a pot plant indoors. It is not a very fast "divider," as it will slowly put on small "pups" around the parent plant which can be easily removed to start new plants.
