Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Bottlebrush Buckeye. The aristocrat of native shrubs, this spectacular flowering plant produces white flower spikes of up to 2 ft. in early summer, the latest flowering of our native buckeyes. It sports a brilliant yellow fall color that will stop traffic. Great for sun or part shade, but in the Deep South it would do better with some afternoon shade. Broader than high, it will reach 10 to 12 ft. in time and if left unattended, it can have a spread of up to 30 or more feet. Every garden should have at least one. Southeastern native.
