Seiryu Upright Laceleaf Japanese Maple. Seiryu is one of the few upright dissectums (Laceleaf types). It has soft feathery dissected light green leaves making this a captivating favorite which is quite vigorous, maturing at a height of 15-25 ft. It has a nice clear yellow to burgundy fall color depending on the soil or light exposure. When the leaves fall in the autumn, they literally disintegrate. If given good moisture during the warmer months, this plant will thrive in full sun to part shade. The more dense the shade, the thinner the tree will become. These plants are not grafted, but they are growing on their own roots. So there will not be a graft union with which to contend in case one wants to develop a bonsai. We have been able to root some cultivars of Japanese Maples, but not all. This is our number one selling cultivar of Japanese Maple at our retail location, because we have an old specimen there with which everyone has fallen in love.
