Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Chinese Evergreen Oak. My favorite evergreen oak is this species, and it is also the most cold hardy of the Asian evergreen oaks. It is frequently confused with Q. acuta and Q. glauca. It has long narrow lightly serrated leaves of up to 4" long. Its average size will be from 20-30' with a dense billowy crown. The best example of this species is in downtown Greenville, SC located out the side door of the Regency-Hyatt Hotel. There are a number scattered around Aiken, SC and also on the grounds of the Augusta National Gold Club. It has a very refined appearance. It is easily propagated by seed if planted within a few days of shedding in the fall.
