Chinese Evergreen Oak. My favorite evergreen oak is this species, and it is also the most cold hardy of the Asian evergreen oaks. It is frequently confused with Q. acuta and Q. glauca. It has long narrow lightly serrated leaves of up to 4" long. Its average size will be from 20-30' with a dense billowy crown. The best example of this species is in downtown Greenville, SC located out the side door of the Regency-Hyatt Hotel. There are a number scattered around Aiken, SC and also on the grounds of the Augusta National Gold Club. It has a very refined appearance. It is easily propagated by seed if planted within a few days of shedding in the fall. Our next availability of this selection will be May, 2022.
