Variegated Easter Rose. This selection is an irregularly white marginal variegated form with single golden-yellow flowers. It is not as vigorous as most cultivars are, and I have never seen it get over about 3' high. This is a versatile easy-to-grow shrub which will tolerate part sun to shade. Soil type is unimportant, just give it good drainage and moderate fertility. Fall color is a good clear yellow, and when the leaves drop, the green branches give it an overall evergreen look. Flowering here is from early April to May and then some sporadic flowering throughout the summer. Native to China and Japan.
