This superb Mountain Hydrangea was developed by Ed Bowen of Issima Plants in Rhode Island. The new growth in the spring is a brilliant yellow to orange with some bronze highlights. Its inflorescence is a lacecap type with white to pale blue florets. It will probably get 3-4 ft. tall and wide. Grow it in filtered sun or morning sun and afternoon shade here in the Deep South, but further north it will tolerate more sun.. Frankly, I would grow it more as a foliage plant rather than for its flowers. It prefers uniform moisture with good drainage.
