Harland Boxwood. This rather mysterious species, according to Dr. Michael Dirr, it might be a clone of Buxus microphylla var. sinica. None-the-less, it is one of the best Boxwoods for the Deep South. It has distinctive narrow leaves which have an identifying notch at their tips of each leaf. I really believe that there is more than one clone of this plant on the market, which we will discuss with another selection, which we have named 'Goliath'. It also has a characteristic vase-shaped growth habit, being narrower at the base and broadening towards the top. With adequate moisture, it does quite well in full sun, but grows well in sun or shade.
