Lionel Fortescue Hybrid Mahonia. Very similar to the other hybrid Mahonias, this selection was introduced to the U.S. by Dr. J. C. Raulston, via England where it was found in the garden of Lionel Fortescue. It flowers for us with a spectacular display of golden sprays between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Its architectural foliage adds to its appeal as well as its crop of blue berries in late winter and spring. Grow in filtered sun. It can easily be kept at 6', but if left unattended, these hybrids can reach to 10' or more in time.
