Yuki Gessho Variegated Panicle Hydrangea. This is another variegated foliage Peegee Hydrangea that is similar to 'Summer Snow.' The variegation is proving to be very stable. The flowers appear to be similar to a 'Tardiva' without the full heads of a 'Phantom' or 'Silver Dollar.' The pictures represent the color of the foliage in mid May here in zone 8.As the summer progresses, it will loose some of the intensity of the variegation with the older leaves, but the newer growth still maintains its incredible color. Grow in full sun for best flowering and foliage color. It is not a precocious bloomer, probably because of the intensity of the variegation, there is not enough "food" produced to develop a large number of flowers.
