Fire Light® Panicle Hydrangea. This new cultivar has outstanding white flower panicles during the summer which age to pink, and then if one lives in a cooler climate, it will turn a pomegranate red. I have found that the heat in the South prevents the extremely deep pink coloring of the panicles of this species. It performs best in full sun and since it flowers on current seasons wood, it is best to prune it back in late winter to early spring, just before new growth begins to emerge.
