Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Blue Moon Wisterias. This species is often referred to as Kentucky Wisteria because it is native up the Mississippi River valley.  This native wisteria with 12” racemes of very soft bluish lavender flowers in late April here. The native Wisterias are somewhat more restrained in their growth habit than the Asian species, but none the less, they are quite vigorous. Because of their later blooming characteristics, they are rarely hurt by late frosts, which often beguile the foreigners. Great subjects for arbors, trellises and fences.
