Fragrant Gold™ Confederate Jasmine. This all-gold leaf cultivar was originally identified as a Trachelospermum asiaticum, until we realized that it is had been miss-identified and is instead T. jasminoides. This selection really stands out in the landscape. It can be used as a climbing vine, a groundcover or as a subject for a hanging basket. It also works well in a combination container planting as the "spiller." But one of its most awesome attributes is its incredibly fragrant yellow flowers. It has the sweetness of a Wisteria. To get flowers, one needs to grow this plant up as a vine rather than a groundcover. When used as a groundcover, it rarely flowers. Even when grown in the shade, it retains its good golden color, and it performs best in part shade or morning sun and afternoon shade.
