Star Spangled Rainlily. Here we have another one of the outstanding Yucca Do nursery hybrids which originates from Zephyranthes drummondii, which is a nocturnally opening species. One can expect flowers from mid-summer through September. It's like most all of the other rainlilies which magically come into flower two or three days after a good rain. Plant Delights nursery reports that it is one of their most floriferous selections. As one can see from the pictures, the flowers are white towards the center and pink at the tips on 8 in. stems. Here in zone 8 it is practically evergreen. As with most others in this genus, the more sun, the more flowers.
