Francis Wood Sorrel or False Shamrock. This incredible perennial has glowing burgundy/purple leaves throughout the growing season and is topped with light lavender/pink flowers in the fall. It is an incredible companion plant in a mixed planter. It was introduced to the horticultural world by Yucca Do Nursery in Texas, and they received it as a seedling from a gardener named Francis We have had one survive here at our office for years in the same pot, and sometimes it must have frozen through and through. Outside of its hardiness zone it works superbly as a house plant.
Zones 7-10.
