This selection of this species was introduced to us by Kelly and Sue of Far Reaches Farm, Port Townsend, Washington state. They recorded, "This is a superb form collected in China in the NE Yunnan at 1900 metes (6,200 ft.) by perhaps the preeminent modern plant hunter, Jens Nilsen. The list of 'firsts' in Jens' history of collections is astounding. This collection is not a first but is notable for being an exceptional form." It is larger in all parts than the previous introduction from Dan Hinkley's exploits, with a height to 20" and a width of 30", with gold flowers in late spring for us, maybe midsummer in more northerly climes. It prefers uniform moisture in a part shade to shady site. From just a few feet away, one might think that they are observing a yellow flowering Daphne. It is evergreen.
