Crispa-variegated Southern Japanese Evergreen Fern. This unusual cold-hardy fern has finger-like protrusions from the end of its fronds, which are elaborately frilled and tipped with white. I found this little jewel at a small rare plant consignment nursery in Japan some years back. It should be grown similarly to the Tongue Ferns, Pyrrosia lingua. Much like the Pyrrosia genus, it grows from creeping rhizomes. It works well in a very organic soil in the garden or as a container subject. Fascinating!
