Deep Purple Stokes Aster. We found this selection as a seedling at Nurseries Caroliniana and we named it 'Deep Purple' is reference to its flowers' color, not for the British rock band. Since it is a southeastern native, this species is accustomed to great fluctuations in growing conditions from dry to wet and from cool to hot. We have found no pest problems. This species is excellent for cut flowers as well. It grows to a height of 18 inches.
