White Tiger Solomon Seal. This most unusual cultivar of the age old Solomon's Seal has a white blotch on each leaf toward the end of each shoot. Even up to half or more of the leaf may be completely white, but as one progresses down the stem, the amount of white becomes smaller. It has the same lily-like flowers hanging from each leaf node when the stems emerge in the spring. It should be grown in shade as with all Solomon's Seal which spread by underground rhizomes, but it never becomes invasive. Don't be alarmed when these plants first emerge in the spring and the leaves are all green. The white markings begin to show as the stems begin to harden. These pictures were taken by John Elsley, noted plantsman, in Greenwood, SC, and were taken in his magnificent garden.
